Field Service Engineer – Swindon or surrounding area | Join a Global Leader in Industrial Machinery

An established international manufacturer of high-tech industrial machinery is looking to recruit Field Service Engineers to support ongoing growth across the UK. If you have a strong electrical / mechanical background and enjoy hands-on problem solving in the field, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

About the Role :

Install and commission advanced CNC machinery on customer sites
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance
Collaborate across internal service teams (remote support, parts, engineering)
Provide on-site support and advice on machine operation and care
Take full ownership of tasks with a solution-driven approach

What We're Looking For :

HNC, NVQ Level 3 or recognised engineering apprenticeship (18th Edition is a plus)

Experience in machine tool servicing, ideally in the woodworking or automation sectors

Strong skills in :

PLC fault finding (structured text, C programming preferred)

Codesys or similar software

Fieldbus systems (Profinet, Profibus, Ethercat, CANbus)

Reading and interpreting electrical schematics

Electrical components (safety relays, contactors, inverters, etc.)

Mechanical competence including :

Replacement of bearings, chains, sprockets, ball screws, etc.

Self-motivated with excellent customer service and communication skills

Willingness to travel extensively within the UK
