Driver’s Mate (Airlock Colleague) - Nights

Contract : 17 shifts in a 4-week period

Start window : 1 available start window of 1600 – 2000 / 1 available start window of 1700 – 2100 / 1 available window of 1900 - 2300 (Some flexibility required)

At Pets , our aim is to give the nation’s pets what they need to be at their best. We are motivated to find the best talent in the Logistics & Distribution industry. We are currently looking for Driver’s Mates to join our transport team based at our distribution centre in Stafford .

The Role

Working with the driver in a 44-ton HGV vehicle, you will make overnight product deliveries into stores, ensuring stores are securely locked and following documented store requirements for pallet positioning. This role involves traveling with the driver, so good conversation skills are essential. The successful candidate will have good spatial awareness, be a keen problem solver, and enjoy working through the night.

You will receive full training on entry and exit routines, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, setting alarm codes, and using the alarm panel. Immediate start options are available for candidates who can join quickly.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist drivers in making store deliveries.
• Hold store keys and alarm codes during shifts.
• Gain safe access to all stores on the route.
• Manoeuvre stock into store positions after delivery.
• Secure premises after deliveries.
• Follow health, safety, and security procedures.
• Act as key-holder for Pets at Home Ltd.
• Check pallet counts against delivery documents and report variances.
• Maintain store security and ensure timely deliveries.
• Report issues with keys or alarms promptly.
• Uphold standards and safety practices.
