Pay : £60,000 - £70,000 per annum DOE
Hours : M-F 8am-6pm (45 hrs)

Workshop Manager opportunity
My client, a well-established family run business is actively seeing to employ an experienced and qualified Workshop Manager for their Manchester depot. You will be managing a team of 6-8 HGV Technicians who will be working on an internal fleet of commercial vehicles consisting of RCV’s, Skip Loaders and Hook Loaders) The majority of your time (90%) will be spent managing at the depot with the remaining (10%) spent on the tools to cover holiday / sickness.

Workshop Manager duties
- Managing 6-8 HGV Technicians you will predominately be off the tools but prepared to help out to cover holiday / sickness
- Ensure the HGV Mechanics, including Garage Helpers / Assistants working under your control have a clear understanding of their delegated task(s).
- Leading and supervising a team of technicians and support staff, allocating tasks, monitoring performance and conducting training and reviews.
- Overseeing daily operations, scheduling vehicle servicing and repairs and ensuring optimal use of workshop resources.
- Managing preventative maintenance plans, MOT preparation and minimising vehicle downtime.
- Ensuring compliance with DVSA, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH and health & safety regulations is critical alongside maintaining accurate service records.
- The role requires effective communication with clients and internal teams, managing parts inventory and supplier relationships, monitoring budgets, generating performance reports and maintaining documentation through workshop management systems.
Workshop Manager Qualifications / experience required
In order to qualify for the role you must be a fully qualified HGV Technician with previous workshop management experience gained in the HGV sectorYou must have extensive experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.IRTEC trained would be beneficial but not essentialFull UK driving licenceIf you are an experienced Workshop Manager and would like to apply for this exciting role with one of the region’s leading employers, make an application via this advert
