Are you an experienced Operations Manager ready to make a lasting impact in a high-performing engineering environment? Join Sulzer’s Services UK & Nordics team in Ellon, Aberdeen — home to one of our most advanced and strategically important Service Centres in the UK.

Following a £1 million transformation, our Ellon facility has become a critical regional hub for the overhaul, repair, and life extension of rotating equipment, serving key sectors including oil & gas, power generation, and renewables. As Operations Manager, you will take the lead in driving operational excellence, maximising performance, and shaping long-term growth in a site that sets the standard across the network.

Your Impact Will Include :

  • Championing a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the entire site.
  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary operations team to exceed business goals and customer expectations.
  • Driving strategic improvements in cost control, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing WIP, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration to maximise output, profitability, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintaining robust commercial and contractual oversight, ensuring compliance and protecting margin.
  • Ensuring full compliance with HSEQ, HR, and client-specific standards.
  • Embedding Sulzer’s core principles : Seize Opportunities, Own It, Team Up, and Create Value — inspiring your team to deliver with accountability and purpose.

What You’ll Bring :

  • A proven track record in operational leadership, including full P&L responsibility.
  • Solid experience in the services aftermarket, ideally supporting rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, or compressors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformational change and Lean / CI initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
  • A hands-on leadership style with the confidence and credibility to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to develop trusted, long-term relationships.
