We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and supportive alternative provision in Kettering, catering to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and challenging behaviours.

This school is part of the education and training sector, offering personalised education and therapeutic support to secondary-aged learners who have struggled in mainstream environments. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1 : 1 and small group basis, supporting them both academically and emotionally.

The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant will have :

• Experience working with teenagers in a school, youth work or voluntary capacity
• A passion for supporting children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and build strong, positive relationships
• A flexible and proactive approach to managing behaviour and learning challenges
• The resilience and empathy to support learners who may have experienced trauma
