PROPOSED SALARY RANGE : 32400 - 46033 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Senior Technical Operator (Audio) you will be working across our range of productions for both live and pre-recorded programming. A key part of the audio team your role will take in all aspects of audio including supervising to deliver high quality content and play an important part in the production process.
You will also be able to develop skills in other areas including vision camera and radio visualisation as appropriate.

You will be part of a highly skilled technical team at the core of a variety of productions for the BBC and independent production companies in both studio and outside broadcasts across Sport Music Entertainment Events Factual and News.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT :
Work across a full range of audio duties including taking responsibility for the overall audio balance of programmes
Plan and organise the technical and team requirements for a programme and deliver the specified audio requirements
Technically guarantee and supervise on our range of studios and outside broadcast facilities
Operate and supervise on live sporting entertainment events and music programming while developing skills within the team
Record edit and deliver audio to be played out when required
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA :
In-depth operational knowledge of audio equipment including a wide range microphones mixing consoles and communication systems
A working knowledge of health and safety requirements associated with work in studios and outside broadcasts
Audio mixing and comms experience in studio and outside broadcasting
The ability to supervise small teams
Experience in working in a high pressure live environment
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED :
Experience in supervising and / or guaranteeing sport productions particularly football
Experience in supervising and / or guaranteeing entertainment and events productions
Track record supervising teams in studio and on location
Skills and experience in other technical areas such as vision camera or visualisation
A desire to develop skills in other technical areas
