Job Description

The Digital Serialisation program is a key Strategic initiative for Brambles. As a PLC Engineer, you’ll be a key member of the team in delivering the technologies and solutions required for this initiative to be achievable. The role involves direct integration support, PLC software programming & modifications for new technologies. Equipment within our Service centres (Plant Operations) includes QR cameras integrated with existing lines.

The role will be closely aligned with the project Senior Controls Engineer who will maintain governance for software changes.

This position requires knowledge of Ladder Logic or Allen Bradley software. It is a hybrid remote role, allowing you to work from home with flexibility to travel to sites as needed. Due to project installations, some working hours may be flexible, including weekends, with time off in lieu.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop PLC code and controls solutions to integrate new technology into existing automated lines.
  • Provide solutions for data and interface requirements for equipment operation.
  • Ensure accurate data transfers to SCADA and Cloud servers.
  • Manage vertical start-up of installations and meet commissioning targets on time.
  • Train operators and technicians on SCADA and PLC systems.
  • Provide on-site programming and controls support for projects.
  • Ensure supplier adherence to PLC and Controls standards, providing support and coaching as needed.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in Ladder Logic or Allen Bradley PLC programming.
  • Experience integrating vision equipment into PLC systems.
  • Experience integrating PLC with SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of data transfer between PLC and SQL / Cloud Servers.
  • Understanding of Ethernet Communication architecture and protocols.
