Assistant Technical Manager

Our client, a highly respected and rapidly growing food manufacturer, is seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance across the site. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will be instrumental in driving high standards, leading audits, and supporting both internal teams and external customer relationships. Key Responsibilities : -Deputise for the Technical Manager when required -Oversee site-wide food safety and quality systems -Ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and site technical requirements -Lead and develop the Quality Team, driving continuous improvement -Take ownership of the site technical function and its performance -Support and host external and customer visits -Lead site audits including BRCGS, customer audits, and internal reviews -Maintain a proactive approach to quality assurance and risk management Requirements : -Previous experience in a food industry technical role -Proven leadership experience within a technical or quality team -Strong working knowledge of BRCGS and HACCP standards -Experience working with retailers and managing their technical expectations -Excellent communication and organisational skills -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 The ideal candidate will be working in a similar position within food production.
