Job Title : Assistant Practitioner (Healthcare)

Location : Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Salary : £13.40 – £13.88 per hour (DOE)

Hours : Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Practitioner to join a well-established neuro care centre supporting adults with a range of neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries. This is your opportunity to be part of a passionate and collaborative multidisciplinary team, where person-centred care and rehabilitation come first.

About the Role :

As an Assistant Practitioner, you will work closely with registered professionals to provide high-quality, personalised care. You will support the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care for individuals with complex health needs—helping them regain independence, improve wellbeing, and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver hands-on, compassionate care under the guidance of registered nurses or therapists.
  • Support patients with clinical, emotional, and social needs within your scope of practice.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and family / carers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes promptly.
  • Encourage service user participation, choice, and independence.
  • Champion safe, inclusive, and high-standard care delivery practices.

Requirements :

  • Level 5 Foundation Degree in Assistant Practitioner (Healthcare) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in healthcare (neuro / palliative care experience desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working within a clinical or multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and practice standards.
