This role is part of the Financial Institutions Credit Risk team, responsible for managing and analyzing the Bank’s activities in its Global Markets business areas, including approval of credit limits and monitoring of counterparty credit profiles and exposures such as derivatives, reverse repo, TRS financing, and secured loans. The focus is on a portfolio of predominantly Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), such as hedge funds, with potential inclusion of bank counterparties depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Counterparty risk management : conducting detailed credit analysis, liaising with clients, formulating credit proposals, and advising on legal documentation including GMRA and ISDA with CSA.
  • Transaction risk management : analyzing risks on new and existing transactions, including stress test results.
  • Portfolio management : ongoing monitoring of creditworthiness, industry trends, and limit excesses.
  • Team and senior management support : overseeing relevant projects and driving departmental change.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Experience in credit applications and analysis of NBFIs within a financial institution’s credit risk department, with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of accounting principles to analyze financial strengths and weaknesses of clients.
  • Knowledge of derivative products and related risks.
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with Front Office, Deal Teams, and Sales Teams.
  • Experience engaging with clients on business models and trading activities.
  • Knowledge of credit procedures, policies, and standards.
  • A proactive mindset.
