We are recruiting for a business Development Manager to join our large Retail team within Exertis. As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the ownership, strategy, management, implementation, relationship, and sales growth of a wide range of IT and Consumer Electronics products into a blend of new retail partners and new product categories and solutions into existing retail partners, increasing the Exertis profile and maximizing all profit opportunities within these areas ensuring achievement of agreed targets and growth.

You will be located in the Basingstoke or Harlow office but expected to travel to other offices and customers in the UK.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Identify new retail customers and opportunities within existing customers
  • Sizing and scope of each opportunity
  • Building strategic relationships with customers and vendors
  • Work collaboratively with the Exertis Portfolio team on category and product propositions.
  • Work with the Exertis Commercial Contracts team and other parties on creating a “mutually” agreeable set of customer trading terms
  • Create and execute agreed action plans
  • Regular customer visits with clear objectives
  • Achieve company targets and objectives
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Own and deliver against key metrics, support in-depth business reviews and present to senior executives, including weekly and monthly forecasts and end of month reports
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested of this role
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct

Role Requirements

  • Experience within commercial, business development, project management or sales
  • Full, clean driving license with access to own vehicle is essential
  • Ability to take ownership over projects
  • Confidence to present and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
