Job Description

Creative Mash is seeking passionate and engaging Drama and Dance Teachers to join our summer performing arts holiday camps. You'll deliver one daily drama session or dance session per day, working closely together to inspire children as they prepare for a performance at the end of each week.

The Dance Teacher will lead one energetic session per day for children without previous dance experience, and creating a fun group choreography.

The Drama Teacher will lead one imaginative session per day, helping children devise scripts and scenes inspired by their own ideas.

Both facilitators will support the camp team during the rest of the day - making sure children have a fun, creative, and safe experience.

Age Groups :

Children aged 5-6, 7-11, or mixed groups of 5-11 years old (depending on camp size).

When :

6 weeks during the summer : 21st July - 29th August 2025.

You don't need to commit to all six weeks - one-week slots are available. Ideally, we'd love a commitment of at least two weeks.

Time :

Monday to Friday, 9 : 00am-4 : 00pm (arrive by 8 : 45am for setup).

One-hour lunch break provided.

Location :

London, Hackney - camps held in Stoke Newington and Haggerston.

Salary : £110 per day (self-employed facilitators only)

Job Requirements

  • Creative background in drama or dance, with hands-on skills and a flair for inspiring children.
  • Experience running engaging and energetic sessions for children aged 5-11.
  • A kind, caring nature - someone who keeps children safe, happy, and well looked after.
  • Positive, flexible team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate kids through structured, playful activities.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to get one).

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead one drama or dance session per day, working toward an end-of-week performance.
  • Prepare and submit simple session plans in advance.
  • Support children as they create scripts or choreographies to showcase their ideas.
  • Help with props, costumes, and staging to bring performances to life.
  • Support other facilitators during their sessions to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Encourage children to explore, experiment, and enjoy their creativity.
  • Help with supervision and daily routines to keep camp safe, happy, and well organised.
