Armadale Health Service, Emergency Department

The Emergency Department comprises of 35 beds including an Ambulatory area- 6 Bays with assessment couches, General Assessment Area, Mental Health Area and Resus Areas. We see a wide variety of presentations encompassing all specialities as well as mental health and paediatric patients.

Patients start their journey in our waiting room where they are seen and assessed by highly trained Triage Nurses, they are then streamed into areas depending on their clinical need; high acuity patients are moved to our resus areas, medium acuity into our general assessment areas and low acuity into our ambulatory area for quicker assessment and treatment.

New staff are started in our lower to medium acuity areas before being orientated to other areas of the department, the time frame for this is dependent on previous ED experience.

If you have at least 1 year of ED or Critical Care experience and are interested in further developing your skills in the Emergency Department, we would like to hear from you.
