They provideplete Mechanical and Electrical services across all sectors of the construction industry including industrial, logistics, food, pharmaceutical, data centre, mining, healthcare,mercial, hotel & leisure, high-end residential, public, and energy.

From design stage to installation and maintenance of their facilities, their staff provides clients with an efficient, reliable, and best in class service.

Our client has been a Deloitte Best Managedpany Award winner for 8 years consecutively, and they pride themselves in being a full building services solutions provider. They have successfully delivered multiple large-scale projects in Ireland, the UK & mainland Europe.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire an experienced mechanical design engineer to join their Edinburgh team.

Your new role

You will be joining an experienced team, in a predominantly office based role, and be responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to facilitate safe andpliant installations on site.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Designing in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations & planning authority requirements.
• Attending Design team meetings.
• Carrying out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
• Producing heating / cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry software.
• Sizing and selection of AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, etc.
• Producing above ground drainage calculations and sizing of drainage systems.
• Sizing and selection of domestic hot and cold-water equipment (heaters, storage tanks etc).
• Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or other desktop spreadsheets.
• Sizing and selection of firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential).
• Producing stage reports & presentations.
• Preparing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports.
• Detailing mechanical layouts & schematics for build.
• Meeting project delivery deadlines.
• Production of detailed design and survey reports.
