The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established UK manufacturer that specialises in delivering lighting solutions to the commercial and public sector. They have an excellent reputation in their space and are expanding due to consistent project demand.

You'll be joining a supportive technical team focused purely on lighting design. These roles are ideal for someone who enjoys designing lighting schemes for real-world environments rather than working on theoretical or R&D-focused projects.

Role Overview

The core of this role involves designing lighting layouts and schemes using Relux and AutoCAD. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and project teams to deliver technically sound, visually appropriate, and energy-conscious designs across a variety of building types, mainly indoor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate lighting schemes using Relux and AutoCAD
  • Ensure all designs align with current UK lighting regulations and standards
  • Integrate lighting control strategies where appropriate
  • Collaborate with sales, projects, and technical colleagues
  • Create and maintain supporting technical documentation and drawings
  • After probation : hybrid working + infrequent customer visits (roughly once every 2-3 months)

    • What You'll Need

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a lighting design role (commercial / indoor)
  • Proficient with Relux and AutoCAD (Revit or Dialux Evo are a bonus)
  • Knowledge of relevant UK lighting standards and control systems
  • LIA Certificate (minimum) or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Comfortable working as part of a collaborative technical team
  • UK Right to Work and full UK Driving Licence
