Job description

HGV Mechanic, Full-time 40 hours per week

Based in our vehicle maintenance unit (VMU) at our depot in Blairlinn, Cumbernauld.

Within this role, you will receive £20.70 per hour.

The Shift Pattern Includes :

Monday to Friday : 11 : 30am - 8 : 00pm

Saturday to Sunday : 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm

Please note that you will be required to work one out of four weekends.

The role will involve :

  • Maintaining the fleet of vehicles and trailers, including Mercedes, Renault, and Scania tractor units, along with multi-temperature trailers, curtain sliders, and box trailers.
  • Carrying out inspections, repairs, and testing.
  • Diagnosing faults.

Qualifications and experience required :

  • Level 3 City & Guilds Maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles (or equivalent)
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment and fault tracing for first-time repairs
  • MOT preparation
