As part of strategic digital acceleration, we launched an on-site marketplace platform to expand our third-party brand offerings and provide customers with unparalleled choice. The marketplace is still in a phase of rapid growth and is looking for a key team member to help accelerate this.

The Online Marketplace Trading Executive will be responsible for ensuring an impactful customer experience for our marketplace customers, driven by data-led insights. You will manage daily and long-term trading activities for the marketplace, working closely with the wider eCommerce team to maximize performance.

This is a hands-on role at the core of our expansion strategy, ideal for someone passionate about eCommerce, detail-oriented, and thriving in a high-growth environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Analyze and report on trading and KPI performance, providing insights and recommendations for growth.
  • Anticipate trading risks and opportunities with data-driven proactive suggestions.
  • Manage the customer journey on the site to improve conversion, reduce bounce rate and basket abandonment, using analytics tools to identify and address pain points.
  • Contribute to broader strategy and set development goals for the project roadmap.
  • Maintain the marketplace trading calendar and manage promotional and merchandising strategies in collaboration with the eCommerce Trade and Category teams.
  • Work with the Marketplace seller team to identify brands and products for promotional activities, track performance, and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with marketing and acquisition & retention teams to optimize promotions, campaigns, and seasonal bestsellers.
  • Develop and improve marketplace categories for better discoverability, enhancing navigation and copy.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses using various tools to generate insights and follow up with solutions.
  • Manage sales budgeting processes, including re-forecasting and KPI setting.
  • Work with the marketplace team to influence seller and product strategies based on insights.
  • Present ideas and updates to all levels of seniority.

We'd love to meet someone with

  • At least 4 years of eCommerce experience, preferably with marketplace expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven data analysis experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills, experience with Power BI and Google Analytics.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a busy environment.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • 50% staff discount & 25% for family and friends
  • Mountain Warehouse was launched to make the outdoors accessible to everyone by offering value-for-money products and excellent customer service. We aim to create a brand that caters to both casual and professional outdoor enthusiasts. Our expansion has grown the brand and evolved our products while maintaining our family business ethos. We employ a diverse team dedicated to providing an exceptional experience in stores and online. Welcome to our journey.
