WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE INCLUDE?

  • Check maintenance books in the home and carry out repairs as required or contact engineers / service agents where applicable.
  • Complete all checks on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required.
  • Undertake basic electrical checks on all equipment, ensuring that all plugs and cables are visually checked for signs of damage.
  • Ensure that daily / weekly / monthly fire checks are completed, including the fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, and fire doors.
  • Maintain all items of equipment and tools in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
  • Submit monthly meter readings of gas, electricity, and water to the Administrator / Manager.
  • Ensure deliveries to the Home are stored and checked appropriately.
  • Keep all storage areas clean and tidy and maintain security.
  • Keep all internal and external doors and pathways clear and report defects.
  • Undertake general redecoration works as instructed by the Home Manager.
  • Undertake ground maintenance to keep the site generally weed-free.
  • Use and maintain the equipment provided in a safe and secure manner.
  • Maintain residents’ privacy and communicate with nursing staff regarding works affecting resident care.
  • Liaise with the Home Manager and Facilities Manager weekly to discuss maintenance issues.
  • Assist in the general maintenance of the retirement apartments.
  • Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of basic maintenance operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
