HV Cable Project Engineer

Role : HV Cable Project Engineer Sector : Transmission Location : Scotland - Hybrid with attendance to Client's offices & sites Start Date : ASAP Duration : 6-Months + Possible Extension Rates : £950 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella Clearance : BPSS (DBS / DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK Key Duties : Involved in the full project life cycle, from project definition, preparing and evaluating tenders, conceptual and front-end design development, detail design reviews, HAZID / HAZCON / HAZOP sessions into supporting construction, installation, commissioning and project completion. providing cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, including : review and assessment of technology options, underground cable routing selection, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment of interface requirements. Developing technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets. Reviewing cable system prequalification and type testing reports in preparation for Client's approval, reviewing and verifying contractor / consultant detailed underground cable system designs, witnessing factory and relevant discipline site acceptance testing.
