Band 7 - Invasive Cardiac Physiologist - Preston

Job Title : Invasive Cardiac Physiologist

Location : Preston, Lancashire

Banding : Band 7

Start date : 28 May 2025

Duration : 3 months

Rate : £40 - £50 per hour

Working hours : Monday – Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 Invasive Cardiac Physiologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking cardiology team based in Preston. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiac services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and ensuring optimal care for our patients through expert clinical practice and leadership.

Responsibilities include :

  • Delivering advanced cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiography, PCI, and device implantation.
  • Physiological monitoring, haemodynamic assessment, and intra-procedural support.
  • Collaborating with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Participating in quality assurance, audit activities, and supervising junior staff.
  • Contributing to service development and maintaining high standards of clinical governance.

Qualifications and experience :

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.
  • RCCP or AHCS registration (or working towards).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in invasive cardiology, including independent practice in a cardiac catheter lab.
  • Proven competence in haemodynamic monitoring and electrophysiology (if applicable).
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
