About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Installation Design Engineer to join our Utilities Engineering Design Team, which is responsible for the design and installation of High Voltage Cable systems for a diverse range of clients. Applications are welcome from recent qualified graduates in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject. A training programme will be tailored to suit the individual with a progression route for their engineering career within the team.
The Engineering Design Team forms part of our High Voltage Business, providing customers with a diverse range of services, from the supply of cable to the provision of jointing services through to full turn-key installation projects. This role will work closely with internal customers, including the bid team, projects, and Energy Network Solutions (maintenance and repairs) teams.
The Design Team is a key contributor to the success of the business, and the successful individual will work on developing effective, safe, cost-efficient design solutions for tenders / projects, liaising closely with site engineers to ensure the project is delivered to the required specification, mitigating risks and resolving any unforeseen design issues as the work progresses.
This is an interesting and diverse role that draws on aspects of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering, supporting projects from initial bid through project execution to final testing and handover.
