Financial Controller – RC Frame & Groundworks

• RC FRAME / GROUNDWORKS EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL
• Ridgeway & Co are working with an established and fast-growing RC Frame and Groundworks contractor is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Accountant / Financial Controller to join their team at their head office in Hertfordshire. This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to senior leadership and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of a high-volume subcontractor working across major residential and commercial construction schemes in London and the South East. Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all management accounts, financial reporting, and job cost control
• Liaise with project teams and commercial managers to ensure accurate cost forecasting and WIP analysis
• Manage cash flow, subcontractor payments, and CIS compliance
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
• Support budgeting and year-end audit processes
• Streamline accounting systems and introduce efficiencies as the business scales Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within RC frame, groundworks, or civil engineering
• Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or QBE
• Strong knowledge of CIS, VAT, and construction finance practices
• Hands-on, detail-oriented and commercially astute
• Confident communicator across site, commercial, and board-level stakeholders What’s on Offer
