Job Summary

Barings' Global Data Management team is seeking an experienced data management professional to join their group and assist with the oversight and development of the control infrastructure for investment security data used by our investment and operational platforms. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of different asset classes, particularly extensive knowledge of fixed income securities, and understand the technical aspects of managing complex datasets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the financial behavior behind the asset data they are servicing.
  • Support the team leadership with developing and implementing training plans for the group.
  • Understand the business processes and data demands of key stakeholders and help improve data management practices.
  • Assist in creating data quality rules on investment security data and collaborate with development teams to align these rules with enterprise standards.
  • Hold data vendors accountable for data quality and work directly with them to enhance service levels.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify data issues and track their resolution.
  • Provide data expertise and business perspective to other Enterprise Data Group teams to ensure organizational success.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in the financial industry, with exposure to asset data management preferred.
  • Degree in a quantitative or financial discipline (Math, Finance, Economics, Business) preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively within teams.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements in accounting and financial reviews.
  • Basic SQL or database query skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with data providers / platforms such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Markit, and Aladdin.
