Advanced Social Work Practitioner

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people and supporting others in your own practice? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our dynamic Children's Safeguarding Team on a 12 month secondment basis.

The Role

As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing complex cases, providing expert advice and mentoring other social workers in the team including social workers in training and ASYEs. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well being of children at risk.

Overall Purpose of the Post

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective care plans.
• Provide expert consultation and guidance on complex safeguarding cases.
• To support the team manager with day-to-day operational issues.
• To manage the predominately complex cases which requires a social worker of considerable experience, knowledge and skills.
• To deputise for the Team Manager and present the team in working groups set up to raise the quality of practice and improve the effectiveness of the service.
• To play a key role in delivering high quality services and meeting performance targets for the newly qualified and student social workers.
• To mentor and support less experienced social workers and provide consultation and guidance on complex safeguarding cases.
• To ensure that services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, local and national policy and guidance.

Further information

The secondment is for 12 months and you will remain an ongoing employee of Wakefield Council.

Paygrade : Advanced Practitioner Grade 12

Location : The Airedale Centre, Castleford
