Job Description

You will set, communicate and realise the site’s operational vision (Manufacturing and Warehousing), drive operational changes, and build the teams needed to achieve business goals. Key Responsibilities :
- Operationally responsible for our new highly automated manufacturing and Warehouse site, and taking it to full working efficiency
- Setting, communicating, and driving the department vision
- Leading from the front, hands on and nurturing a positive and open culture across your team
- Setting and agreeing individual and team SMART objectives
- Carrying out regular one to ones and team reviews
- Inspiring and motivating your team to achieve department performance against agreed key performance indicators, celebrating success
- Capacity planning
- Reporting to key stakeholders
- Preparing annual budgets and proposing capital and operational expenditure
- Working collaboratively with your Direct Reports, Operations Director, and Senior Leaders
- Developing a culture which supports lean management and continuous improvement
The Successful Applicant
This is a great opportunity for a Site Operations Manager looking to take on broader responsibility in a growing business, who is looking for a new challenge. You will ideally have experience within a mixing, blending, filling or automated packing operation but other manufacturing backgrounds will be considered. The successful applicant will also have the following :
A thorough understanding of manufacturing and warehousing principles and processesExperience of working in an automated manufacturing production environmentProven ability to lead, inspire and manage teamsAn understanding and experience in taking teams through transformational changeKnowledge of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools and techniques, such as Kaizen, visual management, OEE, SMED, Six Sigma, DMAIC and the 8 forms of WasteHSE Training / AwarenessExperience in successfully coaching and developing operations talentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and negotiateA strong desire to drive and implement change, with a willingness to challenge the status quoA high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s on Offer
